The White Orient Hotel

The front desk team were friendly and helpful, and housekeeping did an excellent job cleaning the room every day. Those were the bright spots in a stay that fell below what I expected, and I wouldn’t book here again. The hotel felt gloomy and dated, with décor that didn’t live up to the listing. It seemed below a 3-star standard to me, and I don’t know who gave it a “4-star” label. There were few basic amenities: the shampoo and body cleanser dispensers were empty for most of our stay, and the soap dispensers were visibly rusty. Sound carried freely between rooms, so we could hear every conversation from next door. During breakfast, the staff seemed unwelcoming, and cooked food smells drifted from the ground-floor breakfast area up to our room on the 3rd floor. Getting around on foot was less convenient than I’d hoped. The hotel is on a steep hill, making walks to nearby places like Taksim a bit difficult, especially with luggage.

Aykut and Faruk were always there when we ran into an issue. The reception staff were kind, attentive and consistently went out of their way to help us whenever we needed anything. Their support made our stay much more enjoyable.

The beds were really comfortable and the rooms spotless. All the staff were exceptional.

The rooms were spotless and well cared for, and the service was beyond what I expected. Staff were friendly, professional and ready to help from the moment I arrived, which made me feel welcome. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Istanbul.
