I left after just two days even though I’d planned to stay much longer. There were some positives: the downstairs gym was well equipped, the restaurant was good, dinner was about 10 euros a meal, and the supermarket had a good selection at acceptable prices. The room had no electricity when I arrived, and I waited an hour for someone to switch the fuses from outside. There was no router either. You could connect to other rooms’ networks, but whenever you moved you had to enter the same username and password again, which was annoying. The bed was small enough that my feet stuck out. The bathroom was around 2 square metres and too cramped to wash my face properly. The drain was badly clogged and nobody came to fix it. There was a fridge, washing machine, and TV, but only local channels and no Android TV. The pool sat between three building blocks, with little space or privacy. At reception, the employee did a good job, but there was only one person, so I waited 10 minutes. It felt crowded like a train station, more like a hostel than a hotel. The property manager wanted a month’s payment up front, so I left. Getting the front desk to call a taxi was difficult too.

The reception man was polite and gave us our key, but I wouldn’t stay here again. My husband and I were there for the week while he had dental work, and the dental company had chosen the hotel. The room seemed meant for one person, even though there were two of us, and had a small double bed. It was dusty, with lots of rubbish under the bed. We only had enough towels for one person for the whole week. The kitchenette had cutlery and crockery, but nothing to wash them with. The room bin was tiny, so our rubbish ended up in bags behind the door. There was also a gap under the door, and rubbish from the hallway kept coming into our room. There’s a pool in the middle of the apartments, but it was always closed and we weren’t allowed to use it. The place does have a restaurant and a small bakery shop for essentials, and was decent otherwise, but those issues put me off.

Ali at the front desk was especially helpful, friendly, and informative, and even gave us a gift. The whole staff were so accommodating. We’d seen mixed reviews online, but our experience was a happy surprise after leaving another hotel in Izmir that didn’t suit us because it had no air conditioning and stairs. Our apartment was modern, clean, and smelled of lemon. It was very spacious for my son and me, with a huge balcony, kettle, sink, stove, and crockery. The air conditioning worked really well and was easy to use, and the shower had good pressure. Tea, coffee, sugar, and other basics were provided. We weren’t disturbed by housekeeping, and when we wanted the room cleaned we just told reception. The restaurant food was nice, and breakfast was hot with a good variety. There was a reasonably priced mini market on site with everything we needed. The pool was clean and lovely, and reception could provide airbeds and fresh towels any time of day. The lobby was cool and modern. There’s also a beauty parlour, games room, gym, personal trainer, and spa room. We were very happy, would recommend it, and plan to return. Thanks for the stay.

We managed three nights, though I consider that a heroic effort. Every night was so loud that we got maybe 45 minutes of broken sleep. Traffic started up again around 6 a.m., after a bin lorry arrived with what sounded like a rocket launch, and then the mosque call to prayer came around 4. Earlier, takeaway scooters gathered under our window until 3 a.m., while guests chatted and cars started up. The staff moved us to a room above the entrance after we asked for somewhere quieter, and it was even noisier. Our first night had loud street noise through a window that seemed as thin as cling film. We couldn’t shut it because there was no ventilation, and the aircon itself was horribly noisy. Neighbours watched TV and cooked something garlicky at 3 a.m., and the walls were so thin I could nearly join their conversation. The apartment had no pans, table, or chairs. The pool was in the shadiest corner, seemingly for anyone who likes swimming in permafrost. It’s a 30-minute train ride from what felt like civilization, among car garages and in a neighbourhood that didn’t feel safe to walk alone. We left with bags under our eyes and a new appreciation for quiet, basic furniture, and oxygen. I wouldn’t stay again, even for money, unless it were enough to pay for noise-cancelling walls and a new identity.

After the first night we asked to switch rooms and were told no. The breakfast was terrible, the same each day and sometimes leftovers from the night before, with cold scrambled eggs. I absolutely wouldn’t recommend it. We stayed for a week with breakfast, but the rooms were tiny and badly finished. The stairs leading up to where the bed was felt so unsafe you had to watch your step to avoid falling. The walls were paper-thin, and you could hear the neighbours as if they were sitting beside you. There was a cigarette smell everywhere, and bed bugs. Stay away!
