The room needs a facelift, and there was a dangerous exposed wire by the blow dryer. There's also a hole in the shower room ceiling. The Wi-Fi didn't work at all.

I needed an inexpensive place near a specific spot in Izmir, and for that purpose this was a fair deal. You get what you pay for. It's close to the center square but on a quiet street, with places to eat, get coffee, buy things, and a pharmacy nearby. The hotel's photos were accurate, which is rare. There's no breakfast, but a great bakery and a fruit shop with good prices and excellent quality are just 20 meters away. The room was decent, nothing special. The lighting wasn't great and the bed and pillows could be softer, but it was clean. The bathroom was clean too, and the air conditioning was quiet even though I used it a lot. Wi-Fi was always available and fast enough for what I needed, including watching movies. The big-screen TV doesn't connect to the internet, so we couldn't use our Netflix or Disney accounts. We hardly turned it on and used our tablet instead. The staff were friendly and willing to help, including the ladies who cleaned the room, but their limited English made communication a bit challenging. I couldn't believe hotel staff couldn't communicate in English. No one else in the city seemed to speak it either, so thank goodness for Google translation. They were still happy to help and share information. There was a cigarette smell in the toilet from the ventilation, as I'd read in earlier reviews. It wasn't terrible, but it was there. The hotel is very small, with only a little desk for reception, dark narrow stairs, and dim corridors. Still, it was quiet. I never heard voices or other noise. For a simple, low-cost room, this worked well for me at the price. If you want somewhere fancy or a place to take pictures for your followers, look elsewhere.

I stayed for 11 nights, and the hotel was clean, convenient, and much cheaper than similar places nearby. There are plenty of restaurants and fast food outlets close by. The main town centre is a one-minute walk away, and the river/waterfront and ferry terminal are five minutes on foot. The bus and train stations are just a minute away. The staff were lovely and helpful, always checking what else they could do for me, and available 24/7. If star ratings aren't important to you and you want a great location for a great price, this is the place. I'll certainly return soon.

The reception and cleaning staff were very polite and attentive, and the service was impeccable. The air conditioning worked well too. But the rooms were tired and needed updating, the photos weren't realistic, the bathrooms had mould, the toilets leaked, and the rails were rusty. Breakfast was at a nearby cafe, with a ticket from reception. The price was charged in advice and varied by person instead of by room. Only in Turkey, where the price is determined by the people staying.
