Hotel Yumukoglu

The room smelled strongly of smoke, and the hallways were dark. It's a budget-friendly option, so don't expect five-star service or amenities. Still, we enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect and it served its purpose.

The service was bad, and no one on staff spoke to us. During the three days we stayed, there was no cleaning person in our room or anywhere in the hotel. The room itself was filthy, with hair everywhere, blood stains and other dirty marks on the sheets, and rust all over the bathroom. The fridge didn't work either. The curtains had lots of burn holes from people smoking in the room, and the fire detector on the ceiling was covered with a roll of toilet paper. There was even an ashtray in the room, so smoking seemed to be allowed. On our last night, the noise from an escort in the next room was so loud we couldn't sleep. NEVER AGAIN!

The facilities are old, which gives the hotel a nostalgic feel that I found fantastic. The staff were great, kind, and very helpful, and the location was very good. Breakfast was good too, and the Wi-Fi connection was strong.

I stayed there 2 years ago. The hotel was old and outdated, the toilet kept flushing, and breakfast was below average. The price wasn't bad, and supermarkets were nearby. At checkout they charged 4 lira for two 0.5l bottles of water, so be aware that's extra. In most hotels I've stayed in, water like that is free. The receptionist also refused to give me a receipt, which I'm sure violates local law. I can only assume the hotel staff don't pay VAT on that income, and local authorities should check. I also remember the reception printing sign-in papers on a prehistoric dot matrix printer.
