Istakoz İznik Pansiyon

We had beyti and meatballs, both really tasty, and the stuffed mushroom was excellent too. The service was pleasant and the staff were very friendly. The spot by the lake is great, and I’d like to return when it’s warmer to try the “cook yourself” concept.

We paid about 45€ for four people and left happy, so don’t let the prices put you off if you like meat. There’s also an awesome view over the lake.

I asked about the prices before ordering because nobody had offered us a menu. The food seemed so expensive that I decided not to order and left, paying only for the small bottle of water they’d placed on the table when we sat down. Even the water was 20TL. They wanted 350TL for one fish weighing 500-600 grams. I passed because it didn’t feel worth it. I usually pay 130 tl for the same fish, super fresh, at Istanbul Sosyal Tesisleri. The place has potential to improve. If I stop by again and see a difference, I’ll update this review.

The sunsets make this spot on the iznik lake even more beautiful. It’s a lovely atmosphere, with the option to barbecue outside or sit indoors and look out at the lake. The staff are friendly, and some speak English :)
