Moonlight Pension

We were very pleased with our one-day stay in September 2018. The rooms were clean, the staff helpful, and it was very good value for money in Kalkan. I hope it keeps up its good reputation.

The terrace has a nice view, and the place is acceptable for the price. The breakfast was really bad, though, with stale food that seemed to have been made 1-2 days earlier.

We couldn’t find a room in Kaş, so we stayed for three nights at 200 lira per night. On the first morning, we had to be up at 8 a.m. for breakfast before a boat tour, but everyone was asleep and there was no breakfast. Only one staff member seemed to be running the whole hotel. I felt sorry for him because he couldn’t keep up. The room was in bad shape too. There was an ashtray full of women’s hair and cigarette butts when we arrived, and every morning we woke to a foul smell of oil. I don’t want to guess how long they’d been using the same oil, but we weren’t happy with the breakfasts either. There’s no POS machine, and I’m guessing there’s no tax sign. The ratings on Booking.com or TripAdvisor were good before the place changed hands, but have definitely gone downhill since. If you can, I’d stay somewhere else.

This place definitely isn’t hygienic. Two male staff members seem to be handling everything in this boutique hotel, including cleaning all the rooms. I don’t know whether to feel sorrier for them or for myself. The sausages and eggs at breakfast were ice cold every day, and it looked like they hadn’t washed the kettles for weeks. We paid 300 lira a day for three people and weren’t satisfied at all. They supposedly said they’d clean today, but the sheets and towels weren’t changed.
