La Salvia Hotel

The pool area is a good size and quite pleasant, and breakfast was generous, with lots of options and good quality food. For the price, it’s a decent place, and the staff were helpful and friendly. The advertised private beach was confusing, though. After walking a couple hundred metres, we found shared outdoor areas belonging to other hotels or bars, and neither we nor the staff could tell which area was ours, so we left. The property is also starting to look a bit run down and could use some care.

We spent one night in a triple room, which was clean, and the sea view was lovely. The Turkish breakfast was excellent, and they even had gluten-free bread without us asking ahead of time. The shower leaked a little, but it didn’t bother us much. You can reach the sea by stairs. There’s also a pool, though we didn’t try it.

Don’t let the photos convince you. The room wasn’t cleaned each day, and there didn’t seem to be any cleaning routine at all. The bathroom and toilet smelled awful. They call it pet-friendly, but staff wouldn’t let us keep our pet with us by the pool or at breakfast. The kitchen shuts at 5 PM, and after that you can’t order food, even from outside, so good luck if you get hungry later. Breakfast was terrible and felt like leftovers every day. Filter coffee costs extra too. Don’t waste your money here.

We booked five nights only a few hours before arriving, but the room looked nothing like its description. It was small, very run down, and smelled awful from the bathroom. The whole hotel seemed old and poorly maintained. At first I avoided saying that directly and only told them we wanted to leave because we disliked the area. When they refused an early departure, which I could understand, I explained that the room’s condition was the real problem. We were prepared to stay after that first refusal. Then the owner texted that I had one hour to leave because he could sell the room to someone else. He said he would cancel the reservation after we left, but later tried to charge my card for the full stay twice. My card requires authorization, so neither charge went through. Since I’d booked the previous evening, I doubt our early departure cost them potential customers, and the owner agreed with that point. We found a much more comfortable nearby hotel that met our expectations. The owner’s communication was stressful and unprofessional. After promising to cancel the booking, he refused to do so and became hostile when I tried to sort it out. He even threatened legal action over my expressing dissatisfaction, so I had to ask the booking website for help to stop the threats. The young men working there were nice and weren’t involved in this review. The hotel itself was in poor condition and didn’t match its listing. I found the owner extremely rude and dishonest, and strongly advise against staying here.
