Patara Viewpoint Hotel

The rooms are simple, clean and comfortable, each with a balcony facing either the village or the hills. Anne-Louise & Muzaffer take wonderful care of you, and the pool is lovely for cooling off. Since the hotel sits in the hills above Gelemis village, there’s a welcome breeze on the hottest days. They serve evening food twice a week and can arrange great excursions, whether you’re after culture, relaxation, or something more active. I’ve been coming to the Viewpoint Hotel for nearly 20 years and it still feels magical. Part of me hesitates to tell more people about this gorgeous spot, but I’d be rude not to. It really does feel like a home away from home, and all the returning guests show what a lovely atmosphere they’ve created. It won’t be my last visit, and I hope to be back before too long.

What I liked most was how clean everything was. The rooms are small, so don’t expect luxury, but they’re really well prepared, with AC and very hot water. The “living room” is a highlight too, with loads of books and Turkey travel guides. The owner and the woman who works with him are both kind and accommodating. My partner recommends a swim in the pool, and I’d suggest trying one of their super fresh lemonades around midday.

We spent a week here in June 2023 and hope to return soon. Anne-Louise and Muzafer gave us a warm welcome and looked after us with great service throughout. The rooms were comfortable, breakfast was included, and the setting above Gelemis village was beautiful.

Anne Louise and Muzzafer know the local area well and were so helpful, including coming to rescue us when we got lost on the Lycian way! The hotel itself is charming, and the welcome is genuinely warm. If you want a small, friendly, down-to-earth family-run place, this is a gem. I’m sure we’ll come back.
