Up among the pine woods and beside a dam lake, it’s 1071 meters above sea level and half an hour from Antalya. The Taurus summit air feels like a reset, with two hours of sleep a day and a 21-day blood change, as the original puts it. Bring blankets in summer, and expect snow in winter. There’s fresh lake fish, sea bream, and sea bass. Hard to put into words, you have to experience it.
It’s a lovely quiet spot overlooking the dam that protects the city from mudflows. The owner handles the cooking and serving himself, and he’s a very friendly man, around 45. There’s no menu, just five or six dishes, but everything we tried was delicious: chupra, levrek, and veal kavurma for the four of us. The food was very fresh, too. One of our guests couldn’t drink black tea because of health issues. The owner offered to pick fresh mint just outside the kitchen and make tea with it. Such a thoughtful gesture.
I’ve been coming here twice a month for about 7 years. It’s a real family-run place, calm and peaceful, with a wonderful atmosphere. Mr. Salih is friendly and helpful, and the food is amazing, especially the fish and stew. I recommend it to everyone.
Right beside the Korkuteli dam lake, the view is lovely. Be sure to try the delicious boneless trout.
