The pool was a good size and depth, and the water felt pleasant, but it was hard to relax beside it with so many kids shouting and bouncing balls around. The place is promoted as quiet and tucked into the trees, so the noise made that promise feel questionable. There’s a sign at the entrance banning outside food and drinks, which wasn’t mentioned when we booked. As paying guests, we found the rule rude, especially since it could have been explained more politely. The choices of food and drink sold inside were limited too. The grounds around the property, which I believe belong to the business, looked like a dump in the photos. We stayed for three nights and four days in July. The hotel is 4.3 km from the ancient city of Olympos. Before booking, I was told it was a 2.5 km walk or a half-hour drive. By car it took about nine minutes. Walking in the daytime was impossible in the heat, but I tried in the evening and needed 56 minutes to reach central Olympos, not the ancient city. Some stretches were dark, though I had no trouble. The staff were warm and engaging, but I never saw the owner or manager smile. Breakfast was so meager that I didn’t go back after the first morning. Our room was small, with a place to hang clothes but no hangers. Maybe the owner thought we’d brought our own. The pillows, sheets, and towels were perfectly clean. There was no refrigerator. In weather I estimated at 38°C, I explained we needed cold water and was told I’d have to fetch it each time. That was acceptable, except water warmed up almost immediately in that heat. The air conditioning was erratic, working when it felt like it even though the settings stayed the same. Internet was excellent by the pool but didn’t work in the room.

Breakfast was decent and the pool was good, which are the two points behind my rating. The rest of our stay was awful. We went on the third day of the holiday after they called a week before and pushed us to transfer money in advance, even though paying at the hotel was an option. It felt like they wanted to hurry us in before we could see the rooms and leave during the holiday. The room was tiny, stuffy, and neglected, and my wife fainted when she entered. The air conditioner was in terrible shape. The bathroom was the worst I’ve seen: no shower enclosure, so you had to shower right over the toilet. Its faucet was set so far back that people had knocked it loose leaning over to sit, and you could risk falling. The beds and pillows were extremely uncomfortable too. If you’ve been to Olympos, you know the area involves lots of winding, mostly dark mountain roads. I’d look at the other hotels listed below. I’d sooner camp than stay here.

Olympos itself was the part I loved: the forest, nature, quiet, and sea suit anyone after a relaxed, peaceful setting, and the price was quite good. But you’ll have a hard time staying here without a car. The nearest businesses are a 10-minute drive away and the nearest sea is 15 minutes away. There isn’t much choice of restaurants or shops nearby. The staff were helpful and tried to sort out problems. The pool was clean during my visit, and I think it was 1.60 metres deep. I spent five nights in a standard garden-level room. It was damp and very old, and the sheets were old and unclean. The bathroom and toilet weren’t functional, and the toilet seat was broken. There was no wardrobe, no slippers, and no foot towel, so you had to walk around in your shoes. Breakfast was included, but the food quality and choices were poor. The usual cheese and olives weren’t tasty, and lunch and dinner were poor too. French fries were the only thing I could eat. I love animals, but that doesn’t mean I’m fine with fur on dirty sun-lounger cushions. I’m particular about cleanliness and told the owner, but they didn’t arrange cleaning. There were only three employees at the hotel, including the owner, while I was there, so maybe they were overwhelmed. If I return to Olympos, an apartment where I can cook for myself seems more sensible, since there’s no good place for healthy home-style meals.

This is a popular spot if you want to get away from crowds and spend time among nature. Just remember it’s a forest setting and set your expectations accordingly. The hotel felt warm, peaceful, and welcoming as soon as we arrived, and the staff were attentive and helpful. Having a regular pool and a children’s pool made our Olympos stay feel special. Accommodation, food, and drinks were affordable and good quality compared with many places nearby. For that area, I’d say it’s the best hotel to stay in.

We stayed five nights and six days. The staff were warm, friendly, and willing to help with problems, and the price was good. There’s a pool too. This is a nice area for a beach holiday, but don’t expect lively nightlife or lots of restaurants and businesses. Without a car, it’s difficult: nearby businesses are ten minutes away by car and the nearest beach is fifteen minutes away. You can work out the walking distance yourself. The rooms were very small, old-furnished, and definitely not clean. The bathroom was cramped, with no shower cabin or hairdryer. There was no wardrobe for clothes. They don’t provide disposable slippers because the rooms are dirty, so you end up walking around in your shoes. Outside food and alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks are strictly banned at the entrance, with no legal basis for it. They also chose not to put wardrobes in the rooms to prevent bringing things in. Breakfast is included, but the quality and selection were poor. The hotel has its own kitchen, yet the chicken I ate was the worst I’ve ever had. It could be delicious with a little care, but they couldn’t cook it properly. There was no sound privacy or insulation at all. We heard the problems between the woman downstairs and her husband, and I hope they sort things out soon. The windows were difficult to open and close, the air conditioners had issues, and the walls were only plasterboard.
