The Hill Glamping

The mountain and valley views are lovely, and the eco resort concept sounded appealing, but the place was filthy. We arrived late on a hot afternoon and were taken to the room we had booked online. Nobody mentioned that the AC wasn't working, possibly because of a power cut, or that there was no key. It was too hot to inspect the room properly, and the patio had two ashtrays full of old cigarette butts, so we wondered if it had been cleaned at all. At the shared pool, there were bottles, full ashtrays and rubbish scattered around the loungers and poolside, and the water looked dirty. We'd already struggled to communicate about the AC and key, so we didn't try again with the staff. We didn't feel it was healthy to stay, and went looking for somewhere else that night even though we'd prepaid.

The owner is a really good man, and the food was nice. Our room was clean, and we had a great time at the weekend parties. My wife and I were so glad we found this place. One of the best stays I've had in Turkey.

We ended up leaving after about half an hour, €100 poorer, and looking for somewhere else to stay. I even tried a beer to see if it would improve my view of the place. It didn't. The entrance had these enormous, tacky animal-shaped statues, and the whole place felt like stepping into some strange, decayed world. There was no electricity when we arrived. Maybe that wasn't their fault, but surely they could have told us at check-in. We were taken to a room reluctantly, and only learned there were no keys when we went back to reception to ask for one. The ashtrays were full of cigarette ends, everything felt dirty, and without AC the room was unbearably hot. In the shared areas, two women were in the pool with half a bottle of whiskey and their little girl drifting nearby, while three staff members drank tea. Old cigarette butts and empty bottles were scattered around, as if the pool had become a museum of decay.

At first I wasn't sure about the price or the photos online, but once I got there, the lovely staff, tasty food and beautiful concept really surprised me. I'd tell anyone to give it a chance. Emre and Akin especially are hard-working guys. See you sometime soon, gents 💯
