Right opposite the harbour, this impressive, massive building has a large inner courtyard, two levels around it, a fountain, and lovely views of the restored structure. The caravanserai is about 400 years old, free to visit, and sits at the entrance to the old town. It's easy to imagine camels setting out from here on long, exhausting journeys centuries ago. Definitely worth a visit.
It looks great, but we couldn't get inside. There was no sign explaining why it was closed or when it would open.
From the outside it looks nice, but there’s hardly anything inside beyond a public toilet.
Those open-air banquets in the early 2000s were a real highlight for me. You paid once and had food and wine all night, with really good entertainment too. It’s a shame they don’t do them anymore.
The evening is a lovely time to visit ✨
