The view and interior made a strong first impression, and the service was excellent. Almat gave us helpful recommendations, and the team at the Turkish a la carte restaurant put together a wonderful birthday dinner. Halloween evening was lovely too, with desserts that looked like little works of art. We’re fans of the Side area, and this is the best hotel in Sorgun for us. The evening selection of Russian songs was the one thing that got on my nerves. It was hard on the ears and heart, and made it difficult to relax or dance.

Ivanna in the main restaurant was a bright spot for us. She was consistently upbeat, energetic, and attentive, which made meals more enjoyable. The mini club was another highlight for our family. The staff put real effort into the children’s activities, and our daughter stayed happy and entertained. The hotel manager, Mr. Uğur, also made a big difference. He was hands-on, communicated attentively, and clearly cared about solving problems and keeping guests satisfied. That helped create a welcoming feel and softened our impression of some staff seeming tired or reserved late in the season. It didn’t spoil our stay, and we still felt valued. There were a few small drawbacks typical of a late-season visit. We hope management keeps investing in staff training and improvements to the facilities so Lusso Sorgun can reach a luxury, premium level, with continued attention to guest service and timely maintenance.

We booked August 11-18, but after four days the hotel made us leave. We’re still trying to get our money back, and thankfully we have videos. Management said a trash bin had been broken and charged us €75. They said there was no “no-show” and that the rest would be refunded, but that hasn’t happened. They also told us the Russians involved had been removed. We saw them drinking by the pool the same day, while they carried on with their holiday. This started around midnight at the lobby bar. My brother and I were sober and just sitting together when some Russians nearby began making comments. We turned away and carried on talking. The bartender asked us not to worry and said they’d send them away soon. A few minutes later, another woman came over and said not all Russians were like that. We told her we were fine and didn’t want trouble, wished her a good evening, and turned away again. Then a man came up from behind, grabbed my brother by the neck, and shouted that we were looking at his wife and daughter and that they were “Russian police.” He cursed and threatened us in front of the cameras. We asked to go outside and talk. Once out there, we defended ourselves, threw a trash bin at them, and fought back. We were left covered in blood. Are we supposed to be beaten, insulted, and cursed at inside a hotel and just stay calm? The next day, management called and told us to leave, blaming security. Even the officers who stepped in said the hotel had already changed four night managers that season. The night managers sleep, and the so-called security staff are 50-60 years old and can’t even protect themselves. With 600 cameras, do incidents really happen every week? Why did the front office manager, security manager, and staff avoid looking at us the next day? Were they scared, or just incompetent? Did they throw us out because I defended myself after they failed to protect me from the Russian guests? Some staff had told us, “Brother, you did nothing wrong inside, we are on your side.” Yet we were still made to leave. A new hotel run by amateurs. The food and drinks are awful, and entertainment ends at 11 p.m. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone.

The Divo VIP Pool and the pool area are nicely designed, and a few people, including the lifeguards and bartender Efe, were especially friendly and professional. Those were bright spots in a stay that otherwise felt disappointing and overpriced. For more than €5,000 a week, we expected much better service, food, and organization. The hotel may be new, but that doesn’t excuse how unprofessional much of the experience felt. Our room looked fairly nice, though still like a typical hotel room rather than a luxurious one. The infinity swim-up pools were a letdown: fencing and shrubs blocked much of the view, the pools were small, and the tightly packed terraces offered little space or privacy. Room service was unreliable too. Drinks were replenished only now and then, there often wasn’t enough water, and everything came in plastic bottles. The service felt uneven, inattentive, and inexperienced. Staff often seemed overwhelmed or poorly trained. At check-in, we waited two hours past the stated time and kept being told it would be another ten minutes. Ordering food or drinks could take a long time, with waiters sometimes busy chatting privately or calling several colleagues when someone didn’t speak German or English. A smile helped occasionally, but many seemed disinterested, and special requests were rarely met. Even cocktails and mineral water came only in plastic bottles, which felt like poor service and poor value. The food was the worst part. Buffet meals were almost always lukewarm, the same choices came around each day, and there was little variety. We couldn’t find quality seafood, salmon, prawns, or good steaks. It got to the point where we looked forward to basic options like spaghetti bolognese or döner kebab because so much else was barely edible. At the Turkish Restaurant, the starters were good but the main dishes disappointed. One waiter repeatedly touched me inappropriately, patting my stomach and making comments about massages. Even if he meant it as a joke, it was unsettling and crossed a line. Cabanas, bars, and treatments cost far too much for what they offered. Many services seemed geared toward bringing in more money than making guests happy. The rooms and pools offered little comfort or privacy, and everything felt designed to fit as many guests as possible. For this price, we expected much better quality and a wider choice of food. Even allowing for the hotel’s new opening, the value just isn’t there. The food doesn’t even meet a three-star standard.

Our room was 2702, a small penthouse suite with a Jacuzzi, a big terrace, and an amazing view. I think it was the best room! We had our own cabana too, with a fridge and even a safe for a phone or room card. It’s a new, really good luxury hotel, with top service, tasty food, a beautiful beach, and fantastic shows every evening. They felt like professional productions for a hotel. We’ll definitely be back.
