Merve Sun Hotel & Spa - All Inclusive

The night entertainment was a highlight. The entertainer got all the kids singing and dancing, even though the songs were in German. Orhan at the bar was amazing with everyone, kept the drinks coming, and made our week with his jokes and teasing. He felt like one of the most genuine, down-to-earth people I've met. The food was amazing and fresh every day. The chefs were approachable and happy to help, and the soup was always fresh and homemade. From the rooms to the staff, everything was spot on from start to finish. It was my first trip to Turkey, and I couldn't have asked for a better place. We were treated with respect by everyone, despite reading reviews that made us dread the trip. The only issue for me was the German entertainer playing the same music on repeat every day, which got boring toward the end. A couple of mornings he waved to everyone, then looked down at his phone and ignored us. Please don't let the bad reviews put you off; enjoy yourself here.

We had an amazing stay, and the hotel staff were friendly. They spoke only a little English, though, and were better at German, which unfortunately I don't speak.

The spa and massage were excellent, and the staff were kind and helpful. We also enjoyed the tasty, generous meals and the entertainment for children. The room we were given as a family, though, was too small and fell short of what we expected.

The cleaner was the only person we found genuinely nice. Most of the staff came across as rude and focused on money, and we felt tourists were treated differently unless they were German. Even the information and trips were presented in German. English was limited, so communicating with reception was difficult, and one woman there refused to give us clean towels. We had all-inclusive, yet felt pushed to tip at every turn. It was a shame in such a beautiful country with lovely food and a seaside, but this experience means we won't return.
