Meryam Suit Delux Hotel

That mountain view was beautiful. A lovely place to relax, with friendly people and delicious food.

We spent most of our holiday at the hotel, swimming in the pool and having our meals there. We only went out to visit the beach and Manavgat, since the location in the middle of Kumköy is so convenient. It has a family feel that suited us especially well. The à la carte restaurant served good food at prices lower than nearby places, so we didn't need to order from outside. Our chicken sauté, pasta, and salad meal came to 400 TL per person, which surprised us compared with other restaurants. We'll return next year. Thanks for everything.

This is only my personal experience. I booked through ETS Tur and, when we arrived, found the owner arguing with another customer who said they were being given a hard time for booking through the agency. We spent over 20 minutes waiting while they argued about a simple form for our Turkish ID numbers. I finally said I wanted to sleep and go to my room. They said room 303 was ready and sent us upstairs, but there was no elevator, so we carried our cases up three flights. The room was locked and smelled strongly of damp laundry. It seemed barely cleaned, perhaps with only the bed made. The minibar didn't work and there wasn't any water in the room; we were told there were cupboards where water, juice, and cola could be bought. When I tried the bathroom door, its knob came off in my hand. The toilet was very dirty, there was no shower head so we had to use a hose, and someone else's hair was in the drain and in the soap dispenser, along with a hair clip. The bedroom had a single duvet spread across the bed to make it look double, and no air conditioning, so we were cold all night. The unit in the front room didn't work either. A double sofa and single armchair were covered in cigarette burns and smelled awful, and the bathroom towels were stained. I didn't eat or have breakfast, so I can't comment on the food. I only rested a few hours before leaving to continue my route. Had I come for a holiday, I would have been stuck with a truly terrible room. I don't know whether anything could have been done if I'd complained, but they gave it to me as ready. And charging for water? That's awful.

The upper-floor bar was one of our favorite spots, and we could spend our evenings there without needing to head out. Everything we needed was close by, with the hotel conveniently near the center. We first came across it by chance last year and chose to stay again this year. Since our first visit, it has become much tidier and better maintained. The staff were helpful, and we had a relaxing family holiday.
