Papaya Apart Hotel

The apartment was spacious, with a large balcony overlooking the pool, but it felt dated and needed some TLC and a makeover. Room service didn't happen at all, and there was no cleaning or change of towels or bed linen during our 7-night stay. Reception and the bar were open 24/7, and usually a staff member was around to help. The location was quiet, with a mini market and a few restaurants on the doorstep. The town and beach weren't within comfortable walking distance, though taxis were available a 2-minute walk away by Arnor hotel. I enjoyed my stay overall and thought it was good value, but keep these points in mind before booking.

I spent seven nights here. The staff were genuinely kind and helpful, which is why I reluctantly gave it three stars; without them, I would have rated it two. As someone who travels regularly, I didn’t find the hotel up to the usual standard, even for the good price. Housekeeping only came to my door once, then again after I asked. There was no shampoo or conditioner, so I had to buy shampoo locally after leaving mine at home. Wi-Fi costs €1 per device per day, air conditioning is €5, and I think the safe costs €2. Still, it’s not a bad place if you just need somewhere to stay.

We had a really enjoyable stay and would come back. The apartments are roomy and have a kettle, fridge, and cooking facilities, and the pool is lovely. It’s also well placed for the beach, shops, restaurants, and supermarkets. Friendly staff and good value for money.

The pool floor felt like sandpaper, and stray dogs even got into the hotel while we were having dinner. There was mold in the room and the service was poor. The food was low quality, especially breakfast: sour yogurt, sweaty sausages, and really bad pancakes. I wouldn’t buy the all-inclusive package here; it isn’t worth the money.
