The food was good, and some staff members were helpful, though others were rude and disrespectful. The room, even after I paid extra for an upgrade, felt neglected and badly maintained. It was unclean, with an extremely uncomfortable mattress that made it hard to sleep, and an old, worn blanket that left me wondering how often things are cleaned or replaced. Broken cupboard and hangers made it hard to unpack. Basic comfort and cleanliness just weren't there. I wouldn't recommend staying unless major improvements are made.

The reception staff were a bright spot: pleasant, friendly, approachable and helpful. The food, on the other hand, was bland and only adequate, with very little choice. The room was very outdated, the fridge was empty and there wasn't even complimentary water. When I first saw the place, I wondered what I'd booked. The exterior looked like a motel in a rundown area, and the facilities and appearance need work. I don't think it should be rated above two stars; it doesn't meet four-star standards.

The decent adults' pool is the only thing that keeps this place from a one-star rating. This hotel is sold as four stars, but it's two at best. There's no air conditioning anywhere, including the dining areas, and everything feels broken, tired and worn out. The whole complex is full of smokers, including staff around the hotel and bar, so there's no smoke-free area. The lifts and corridors stink of stale cigarette smoke. Food was appalling: oily chicken nuggets and reheated chips from the night before for breakfast, and every day just a tiny selection of greasy, sloppy food in a hot, stuffy room. No pastries or fruit to tide you over. The bar was dry, with just beer and miniature plastic bottles of gin or vodka for mixed drinks. It was basically gin or vodka with lemonade or orange fizz. We never got proper room cleaning either. The floors were filthy, and the bedding was changed once in our seven days. There was hardly any poolside music, except when the bar staff plugged in a phone and played a song now and then. I ended up spending a fortune eating out and going elsewhere to salvage the holiday. I wish I'd booked somewhere cheaper and catered for myself, especially since I spent my 30th birthday here. Stay clear.

The spa attached to the hotel was great and well priced, and at the price we paid, £220 for a week all-inclusive, the food was tasty even if it was very similar each night. The beer and alcohol did the job, so for that price you can't complain. An acceptably good holiday if you're paying little. Our room was quite nice because we were in the newest block, but other guests told us rooms vary a lot. They gave us clean towels and changed the bin once a day, though a few times they left only two towels for the three of us. The pools looked cloudy and not clean, but smelling chlorine was reassuring. Cleaning around the bar and restaurant seemed minimal. I never saw glasses put through a dishwasher, just collected, rinsed under the tap and used for the next drink. You have to hope they were cleaned more thoroughly when no one was looking. Tables weren't sprayed or wiped either, just cleared of crumbs and reset with cutlery.
