Zeybek Hotel

The breakfasts were a real bonus, with generous Turkish spreads made from lovely fresh local produce from the nearby fruit and veg shop. For a budget stay, it was very good value. The hotel is right on the beach, and the front-facing rooms have stunning views. The rooms and balconies are small but adequate. The beds were comfortable, with reading lights, and the shower had excellent pressure and plenty of hot water. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The two domestic staff were around all day and quickly brought an extra pillow and a lighter sheet when I asked. A lovely, welcoming place.

This was our third family visit, and I highly recommend it if you're looking to unwind. It's right by the sea with a private beach, and sits in the center of Turunc. The rooms are clean, the staff are very friendly, and all three meals each day were delicious. Great value for the price.

I was hardly in the room, which was cramped but had everything I needed. The view was amazing, and the hotel is right by the sea. Staff were helpful and friendly, and the on-site restaurant served good food. I really enjoyed my stay.

For a couple of nights this place is okay, but I wouldn't recommend staying longer. The dining area had a beautiful view, and the meals were decent enough. Breakfast was edible, with tasty bread, cereal, jam, boiled eggs, a couple of cheeses and some soy sausage, though there wasn't much choice. Dinner let you pick meatballs, chicken or fish, and all three were pretty good. Lunch had no choice, just whatever they brought. During our ten days, it was chicken once and mostly beans or stewed vegetables, with little or no meat. There were soups and pickled vegetables too, plus fruit and dessert at dinner. The Turkish pastries were very sweet and usually gone within ten minutes. Tea, coffee and water were available with meals but cost extra at other times. Midway through our stay they stopped me using my reusable bottle for water, insisting on disposable plastic cups. They were rude about it, and the waste is awful for the environment. The rooms felt worn and weren't very clean. There were stains on the sheets, towels and bathroom fittings. There's no shower enclosure, just a drain hole in the floor, and the water drains slowly enough to leave the whole bathroom wet. Hot water was often unavailable in the afternoon. The air conditioning worked, and the staff cleaned daily. Wi-Fi didn't work in the rooms or lobby, and only worked sometimes at the beach. It was reliable in the dining area, but loud music played there for most of our stay and could be heard at the beach too, making it much less pleasant. The beach was okay, though a little dirty with cigarette butts, and many loungers were taken up by towels with nobody using them. The ramp made getting into the water easy. It takes you straight into chest-deep water, and the seabed is sandy. From 6 PM the beach area becomes a dining space, so it wasn't very comfortable to stay there after that. About half the employees were nice, especially the English-speaking girl at reception. We know Turunc from an earlier visit, and for the same price you can find better deals. This felt more like a restaurant renting out a few rooms than a proper hotel.
