Peony Palace Hotel

The hotel is modern, nice and clean, though some things need attention, like loose handles. There were power outages, most often at breakfast but also in the evenings. Wi-Fi was very slow, had a poor signal and often didn’t work. Only a few people speak English, and their English is poor. Daily housekeeping was basic, which was okay, but on some occasions the lady took away shower gels and shampoos that had been used but were still usable without leaving replacements. The meals were reasonably good quality, but there was very little choice. French fries for breakfast every day, yet not once at dinner. You could get an extra drink with dinner if you asked, but nobody told you about it. Alcohol was available at the hotel but obviously expensive, and on the slopes it was only sold at individual establishments and cost even more. The ski room is there, but it’s a bit of a mess. Lockers cost 3 euros a day, and although everything was booked on the first day, the women managing the room still asked for your name or room number every day. For skiing, check when holidays in Turkey start and avoid that period. When topping up your ski pass, be aware it’s like adding a new pass to the existing one, and you only see what’s on it after using the new one. The slopes aren’t very demanding, and how many are available depends a lot on the weather. The lifts run slowly or very slowly, especially the unprotected ski lifts.

The snowfield views from around the hotel are amazing, especially from the balcony rooms. The location is perfect, and the hotel was super clean and tidy. Big thanks to manager Karem, who went above and beyond for our big group. Hiring ski clothes and equipment directly from the hotel is much cheaper than at the ski fields, and there’s a shuttle bus to take you to the ski fields 1km down the road.

A beautiful, luxurious stay at affordable prices. The staff were so friendly and helpful, especially karam.

The coffee wasn’t great, and the beds felt a bit hard. Apart from that, 5/5, especially for the service from the staff.
