The apartment was clean, with parking, and only a few minutes’ walk from the sea. The internet was very weak, and there was a cockroach in the bathroom, probably from the sewer. It’s beside a mosque, so the morning call to prayer may wake you. Pets aren’t allowed.

The location worked well for us, about a 15-minute walk from the Marina Walk. At reception, the management were very helpful, and the price was affordable. We had a great stay at Vip House Hotel in Mersin. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed. I recommend it!

The renovation was never mentioned to us. It started at 7am and went on until 8pm, for nearly three weeks, with loud noise and dirt throughout the building. The reception ramp felt unsafe, and most of the time the reception was empty. The washing machine smelled disgusting, and the furniture was uncomfortable and very poor quality. The place felt unprofessional all around. All the good reviews seem to be from two years ago. Apparently they delete REAL reviews. My advice is short: AVOID this place.

There are several room types, depending on what you need, including options with ovens, washing machines, and dishwashers. You can get a king-sized bed or two regular single beds. The rooms are generally pretty clean, though they could use more utensils. There’s usually enough for one or two people, which is mostly fine unless you’re staying with family. The location is convenient. Beyman, Sok, 101 and plenty of other supermarkets are nearby, along with barber shops, a hospital, and a bakery, all one or two minutes away. There’s also a mosque and a little park for kids next to the hotel. Reception staff are friendly, responsive, and can speak English, which is a real plus for foreigners. Cleaning is available whenever you ask.
