Mavruka Hotel

The first impression wasn’t good, with no air conditioning in the lobby, and the problems continued in the room. It wasn’t clean, the decor felt very dated, and the air conditioner barely worked. The fridge cost extra, and even after paying, it didn’t cool properly. There was no free water in the room, and we weren’t allowed to bring our own in either. There’s no elevator, which is a real hassle with luggage. I also found the staff unfriendly and sometimes rude, which isn’t acceptable in hospitality. I can’t recommend this place, and don’t understand its 4-star rating.

We booked two rooms for seven people, one on the ground floor and another on the third. Both were clean, and housekeeping kept them that way throughout our seven-night stay. The staff were amazing, and the two pools, one large and one for children, were clean too. There was a great selection of inflatable floats for the kids. Breakfast was a varied buffet with fresh eggs or omelettes available. The beach is about 150 to 200m away, so very close. Highly recommended.

The bar staff were especially lovely and helpful, always going above and beyond. We also liked the clean rooms, spotless pool area and good breakfast selection. It’s a good location, about a 10-minute walk from the beach, and our package holiday made it good value. We’d definitely come back.

The manager, Nessie, really went out of the way to make sure we had a great stay. Everyone was warm and welcoming, and the hotel, bar and restaurant were all great. I’ve just come back from the best holiday I’ve had, and the mavruka hotel was a big part of it. Highly recommended.
