Anemon Kent Ordu Hotel

The service was quick and very polite, including at reception, but the breakfast was poor. The rooms are spacious enough, though the lighting is dim. There was mold in the shower, no toilet paper, and a blanket I wasn't sure had been washed. The air conditioner was dusty and clearly wasn't cleaned regularly. The hotel is about a 15-20 minute walk from the center.

The pool was pleasant, though the water felt colder than the sea. Breakfast was only average: limited Turkish basics like cheese, olives, tomatoes, cucumbers, and fried lokum, which we couldn't eat. We only noticed another table had omelettes as we were finishing, and nobody had told us eggs could be ordered. Coffee was just a few Nescafé sachets, and they were gone by our second cup. The rooms are spacious and nicely designed, with wooden floors, luxurious bathrooms, clean linens, and high quality mattresses. The setting right by the sea gives a fantastic view. But the staff were inconsistent. One receptionist was attentive, while another ignored me. The hotel's internet was slow and the awkward login was hard to complete without reception's help. When the old login page wouldn't load on my device, no one did anything, and even after getting online it was too slow for Google Maps. We had better internet in some pretty rough places on our drive across Turkey. A lot seems to have gone into the building and equipment, but the food and staff don't always match. It was still a good stay, just below our expectations, so I'm taking off one star.

The view is the one nice thing here. I've stayed twice, and this time the condition was much worse. The whole place is rundown, with things breaking or falling apart when I touch them. The fridge didn't cool, the blankets were very thin, the air conditioner didn't work, and the bathroom lights were out. My window lock and the room door lock were both broken, which felt like a serious safety issue. Reception was terrible, the staff were rude, and the breakfast area was unhygienic. This is the worst hotel I've stayed in.

The rooms were spacious and very clean, and I found it a lovely place. It's by the sea, across the main road, and the local bazaar is close enough to walk to. Breakfast was limited, with little variety.
