Gölyaka Stone Garden Hotel

With its unique mountain and lake views, this is a peaceful place to spend a holiday. The cleanliness, organization, management, and surroundings at Garden Stone otel all made us feel secure. The kids had a wonderful time, and the setting was amazing: the lake in front, mountains behind, and olive groves all around. We came during the November break, when it was mild, about 16-17 degrees. The lake is shallow and has a beach, so it seems ideal for spring and summer too. People were picking olives, and everywhere we went the streets were spotless, with no garbage in sight. We'd planned to stay two days but ended up staying four because we loved it so much. The people were exceptional, the service was top-notch, and everyone was friendly and helpful. Our rooms were spotless as well. Breakfast was available where we were staying. One evening we went to Orhangazi for fresh fish at a reasonable price, and on the second day Hamit Bey made barbecued chicken. We had breakfast by the pool. Ismail Bey and Hamit Bey were so kind and helped us with everything. Heidi's grandfather has a dog in the garden, and there's a little dog called Maya too, plus a cuddly black cat. If you're after peace and quiet, definitely come.

The price was very reasonable for the service, and we had a wonderful four-day stay at this boutique place. I especially want to thank Hamit and Ismail for their friendly service. We were there in November, with olive groves behind the hotel and dirt roads climbing the mountain. You can walk as far as you like up there and enjoy a wonderful view of Lake Iznik. They kindly let us walk their lovely dog while we went for a stroll.

Osman Bey made sure everything went smoothly, and his sincere, attentive hospitality really made us feel at home. Getting there was easy too: we arrived in one vehicle on the Iznik minibus from Bursa Bus Station, which stopped right in front of the hotel. Apparently similar single minibuses run from other districts as well. This warm, family-run place was a lovely choice for our holiday. Everyone was friendly and attentive, the rooms were spotless, and the calm lake view made mornings special. The pool was clean and a good size, and having a barbecue in the backyard made the evenings more fun. The food was generally delicious, especially the hamburgers.
