Arp Dalyan

On my third stay in this area, I wished I’d picked this place first. The service was outstanding, the hotel was very clean, and we felt like family from the moment we arrived. I even met the owners, who shared local history you won’t find in books and pointed us toward lovely hidden spots and what seemed like the best restaurants for our dinners. One owner offered us a lift toward the bus station and wouldn’t accept money. The view of the tombs was the best I’ve seen among the area’s hotels, day or night. At dawn, I’d watch large turtles that seemed to settle right below the dock as sunlight hit the tombs and the river looked smooth as green glass. Calling a water taxi to turtle beach was easy, and stepping from the private dock straight onto the boat was fun. The pool was very clean too. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner service were hard to beat. There was tea time at 4:30pm, with a different gourmet dessert every day, and I wondered if they had a classically trained chef making them. They often had live music in the dining area as well. The receptionist and all the staff were friendly. We also made friends with other visitors. The price was better than the hotels we’d stayed in over the past three years. It ticked all the boxes and added a few surprises. Book soon if you want this Dalyan experience. The owners clearly pay attention to detail and guests’ comfort. The Turks will leave you longing to come back, with plenty to daydream about at home.
