Caretta Villa

I gave it two stars for Dalyan’s beauty and the house’s decoration, which must have looked really nice in its time. But it feels neglected now. The house was supposedly cleaned before we got it, yet we had to remove cobwebs ourselves and clean the whole place again, as best we could with the supplies available. The kitchen was poorly equipped. Even though the house sleeps eight, there were only eight of each thing, like spoons, forks, and glasses. Once the dishes were dirty, you had no clean forks or glasses until you washed them. The pool was very dirty, and I only saw chlorine tablets being added, nothing else being done to clean it. The garden meant mosquitoes and insects were to be expected, but during our week there I didn’t see it sprayed with insecticide even once. The owner apparently can’t look after the house because of health problems, from what I understand, but that shouldn’t be an excuse. The 10,000 TL we paid was not a fair price for this.
