Palm House Dalyan

The house and setting are even more impressive in person than they look online. It's in Gokbel, a valley village with very few homes and farms nearby, and lovely land and views in every direction. Aras welcomed us after arranging easy airport transfers, and was just a phone call away throughout our stay. A superb, helpful host who shared plenty of local tips. We rented a quad bike for roughly £20 a day and enjoyed the picturesque 20 minute mountain ride into Daylan. The beaches are close, with clear, warm water and some great places to eat nearby. Aras also suggested hiking up the right side of the mountain for spectacular views, which is a must. An amazing holiday, perfect for a honeymoon. We'll be back, and will tell friends and family. Aras and Valentina were wonderful hosts, both with communication and hospitality. We'd happily stay again. The house sits between three beaches, Asi, Kargicak and Iztuzu. We liked Kargicak best for its clear water, and enjoyed the farm to table place there where you can rent sunbeds. The pool was bigger than we expected, and the place feels almost completely secluded apart from the gardener coming between 8am - 9am. It's a village, so expect chickens, cows, goats and no markets. Bring bug repellent. The neighbors next door sell eggs and yoghurt if you want some. The road to the house needs work, but we managed it on a bike.

Kargiçak Bay is worth making your way down to, just take care on the road. There's a decent restaurant and bar there, a bit pricey but far from the worst, and the food and music are excellent. The sea kayak tour was really fun. Don't drink too much before driving back, you'll see why when you get to the road. For a more adventurous walk, there's a steep route west to the next cove, about 1.5 hours. Bring plenty of water. We went big for our first holiday in two years and booked Aras' place. It was so good, the photos don't lie, and Aras is a great, accommodating host with lots of helpful local tips. If you're wondering whether the place is worth the extra, we'd recommend it in a heartbeat. Thanks, Aras!

We came back for a second visit, and everything was just as perfect. It's a calm, peaceful place, and a lovely spot for couples looking for a special date and a great view. If the photos appeal to you, the real place looks even better. P.S. Please give the grey cat with the spot on his nose a cuddle for us. We named him Turkey last year, and he's a great guy.
