Grand Keskin Hotel

The corridors to the lift and stairs go completely dark when the automatic lights switch off. You have to wave your hand to turn them back on, and there are no emergency lights on the stairs. That doesn’t feel safe in a fire or any other problem. There was no hot water set out for making coffee or tea, and our room had no mugs or glasses. When we asked, they acted as if they’d put in a request, but nothing came. The next day she said they could give us hot water if we had a thermos, or bring one cup to the room. That was really bad.

At least it only cost 700tl for two single beds and one double bed, and breakfast was nice. But there was no light in the “livingroom,” so my dad watched TV in total darkness. The minibar was empty and apparently isn’t refilled anymore. The sauna, hammam, massages, and Jacuzzi aren’t available now either. Maybe this used to be a 3-star hotel, but it feels poor these days. The WiFi didn’t work.

The rooms were tiny and noisy, with traffic audible day and night. They advertise a spa, bar, and restaurant, but none of those were there. This place felt like a dump. I stayed one night, then moved to the Business Address Hotel the next morning, which cost 2/3rd the twice. Its room was at least double the size, breakfast was good, and the Spa was excellent.

It’s close to the bus stand, which is handy. The downside is there’s no restaurant, just breakfast.
