Oda Suit

The reception staff were friendly and helpful, and we liked the beautiful view most of all. The location is central and busy, and for the price it can be good, but only if you’re prepared to clean things yourself. Everything was very dusty, including the windows, and the cleaning staff seemed reluctant to do much. They left loads of dust and crumbs under the sofa. The room was so poorly cleaned that our socks turned black from walking around. They barely changed the water, and I regretted asking them to clean it again. They wouldn’t even take the trash. I’ve stayed in plenty of places, but I’ve never seen cleaning like this.

The sheets and bed were very clean, and the room cleanliness wasn’t bad, though it needed a more thorough job. The sofa and curtains especially need cleaning. The location is great, right in the heart of the city, with convenient parking. Staff were polite and helpful, and when we pointed out a problem, they promptly moved us to another room.

We chose this place because we were going to a concert at Joly Joker, and it seems fine for a night or two. It’s a 20-minute walk there, though not a pleasant one. We walked over and took a taxi back, and I’d take one on the way there too :) We stayed just one night, but you could easily spend 2-3 days here. It was clean, and the hairdryer, fridge, TV, heating and other things all worked. A few small issues, like a loose electrical outlet and a loose toilet flush, could be fixed in five minutes if someone checked the rooms now and then. The main downside was a cigarette smell in the room, not too strong. I’m not sure whether it came from another room or someone who’d smoked there earlier, but reception staff smoked where they sat, so they didn’t seem especially careful about the smell.

We booked for three, but the sofa bed wasn’t set up for the third person, with no bedspread or pillow. It was uncomfortable too, and we had back pain all night, even though they’d said on the phone it would be comfortable. We also couldn’t sleep because of the horns and engine noise. We hadn’t expected much in terms of quality, but the cleanliness was awful. Dust on the curtains and window sills left us itching from allergies all night.
