The host was very hospitable and helpful, and breakfast by the pool was a typical Turkish spread of eggs, cheese, salad, bread and jams. The pool was wonderfully refreshing in the roughly 40C afternoon heat, and we had it to ourselves. The rooms are basic but clean, including the bathroom. We had two rooms for three adults and two children, at about £22 per person, so I wasn’t expecting five-star. Compared with the White Haven just down the road, where we stayed last year, there was little difference except that it cost about twice as much and had a bigger pool. We stopped here for one night on the way from Alanya to Izmir because it was inexpensive. There’s a small area with plenty of bars and restaurants, and good prices, about a five-minute walk up the road. It was probably in the mid-30s overnight, and the air conditioning was a blessing, though I struggled to set the temperature just right. We didn’t visit the sights this year, having seen them last year. The Travertine of Pamukkale and ancient ruins at the top are stunning. Laodikeia, about 10 km south, is worth the drive too, with fewer crowds and fabulous antiquities.

We got good value for the price. The owner was friendly, helpful and gave us great service throughout our short stay.

The room was small, but clean and about what you’d expect for the price. The owner was friendly and hospitable, always making time for us and finding a solution if we had a problem. The location suited a visit to pamukkale: Hierapolis is 10 minutes away, and the supermarket and bus stop for demizli are both two minutes away. We stayed one night and had a great experience. I can really recommend it, it does very well for the price.
