Grand Asa Family Suites

We chose to vacation during Ramadan and checked in on the first day of the holiday. We shouldn't have. The reception was awful and everything was chaotic. Most staff seemed unprofessional, unserious and uninterested. The place was filthy, with ants greeting us at the entrance and following us into a room full of flies, ants and insect webs. The air conditioning and refrigerator didn't work, there was no cold water, and the power kept cutting out. The pier was ruined, the pool was extremely dirty, and children were getting infections. The sea was dirty too. People came into our room without our knowledge, claiming to be staff. Spoons and forks were constantly missing, and the water in the dispenser was tap water. Everything had to be paid for after 11 pm. Meal lines stretched a long way, and if you arrived late, you'd go hungry. Honestly, it might be better for your stomach not to eat there. Everything was TERRIBLE. I wouldn't recommend staying here.

The sea was beautiful, and the staff were friendly, though inexperienced. But this isn't a place for anyone looking for a clean holiday. I suspect the rooms hadn't been cleaned since last season, and the food was subpar. Even the cloths used on the tables were stained with dirt. When I asked for ice for drinks in the sun, I was often told the machine was broken. If the beach bar had ice, they'd scoop it into the drinks by hand. The rakı and beer were disgusting, and the water dispenser knobs were filthy too.

My child was bitten twice by mosquitoes or ants in the room, and his eye is swollen. The rooms were old, with cobwebs and cupboard backs that hadn't been cleaned. Daily cleaning happened except on weekends, but it wasn't thorough. There was no hot water, and the food was just passable with little variety. Non-alcoholic drink choices were limited, mostly carbonated drinks. The pier was destroyed and only superficially repaired; the beach wasn't very good, and the seawater was dirty. I didn't like the place and won't return.

The sea was beautiful, and drinks were free, with reasonable prices for alcoholics. The beds and bathrooms were unclean, though, and we couldn't sleep because of the flies. Everything was filthy, there was no cleaning at all, and even after we asked for clean sheets, none were brought. The food was terrible. Don't let the photos fool you, this is a terrible hotel and a waste of money. If you can stomach dirty beds and bathrooms, maybe it's for you.
