Having a car would be useful here, since the hotel sits up the hill and getting to the sea and marina means heading down. We also had access to another hotel's beach through a partnership, which made it easy to swim and relax by the water. The staff shared helpful activity suggestions and helped us contact someone about a boat tour. Our balcony had a wonderful view each morning, and the pool looked out over the same lovely scenery. Breakfast was a great start to the day. The service was excellent, including the effort to prepare food for our dietary needs even though those dishes weren't on the menu.

We spent four nights here, and had dinner at the hotel every evening. A talented chef prepared the meals, and the breakfast was lovely too, with delicious Turkish tea. Be sure to try the mutebbel and fırında levrek. The hotel is on the slopes above Selimiye Town, about a 15-minute walk from town, with a very nice view. Nearly every room looks out over Selimiye bay. The rooms aren't spacious, but there's enough space for two. Our lovely host Burak mentioned that they also have more private honeymoon rooms with a nice terrace and a view.

We left and carried our own bags while the man in charge went off to smoke. After all the attitude, we no longer wanted to spend our holiday in such a hostile place. What a shame for a nice hotel to be let down by staff who were rude and uncaring. I wouldn't stay here even if it were free, and I feel it could ruin anyone's holiday. We've stayed at this hotel with friends many times before, but the management and staff now seem completely different. We had booked a double room facing the sea and were assured it would have two beds, supposedly enough for two adults. Instead, we were shown a family room with one bed and a children's bunk bed, and it didn't face the sea. When we asked for another room, the man in charge huffed and complained that he was too tired to carry our bags. He said there were no other rooms and that he was tired. After we insisted, he eventually showed us another room, leaving our bags downstairs, then refused to carry them and went to smoke a cigarette. We were lucky to find another hotel right on the beach, with amazing staff, service, and location. In the end, I guess that was our gain.

Just know that you're staying high up on the mountain. The views are a big plus, but walking back up after the beach or dinner is a pain. Driving makes things easier :-) Our room was spacious, with its own entrance and balcony overlooking the sea. The place itself is stunning, with a superb pool, helpful staff, and a lovely Turkish breakfast on the terrace with a great view.
