The owner and his wife were friendly and respectful, and the place itself was quiet and peaceful with no trouble from other guests. We only needed somewhere to sleep, so despite all the issues, they didn’t bother us much. I’m sharing this to give anyone considering this room a clearer picture and to suggest where the hotel could improve. We rated it low because it didn’t match our expectations for the price. We had agreed on a price after looking at the room photos on Google, searching, and discussing it. The room we got was a small converted basement space under the stairs, right beside the road. Since it faced a road between neighborhoods, we couldn’t open the curtains, and the room stayed rather dark. The lights were very dim too. The ceiling was low, and the chandeliers were so large they got in the way when standing up or taking clothes off. There was no hot water in the bathroom. Its light switch was broken and only worked when plugged in. The blow dryer was broken and didn’t work properly. A lot of basic things were missing: no mirror, glasses, napkins, towels, hotel slippers, trash can, or drying rack for clothes. There was nowhere to hang wet clothes. The bed was uncomfortable and the pillows were hard as rocks. Loose electrical cords stuck out of the wall, and the outlets protruded, which seemed like a serious electric shock risk. The two balcony chairs were rusty and in very poor condition. We were first asked for 2000₺ per night and barely got it down to 1500₺ after bargaining. I’d negotiated based on the Google photos, and even after seeing the room in person I didn’t want to back out. That was definitely too much for this room. You could stay at a beachfront motel for that asking price. If it had cost 500₺, we’d have found the shortcomings easier to accept. It felt less like a hotel room, hostel, or apartment and more like a ruin or shack, just four walls for shelter. This was a huge disappointment for anyone arriving with high expectations.

I called to ask a few questions and was spoken to in a scolding way. That person was so rude and ignorant that I wouldn't trust them. If you want someone to scold you, just call for information.

The location is excellent, close to both the sea and the city center, and there was hot water. But the place wasn’t as clean as it looked in the photos. Ants were all over the kitchen and got into everything we put there. There was dust on the bathroom and on the bed headboards. In response to the owner’s poor reply: Madam, my comment clearly upset you, but that doesn’t change what happened. Nine of us stayed in the three-bedroom house, with parents and children in every room. I noticed what looked like plain dirt on the headboards after our babies woke up. I thought the bathroom might just be gritty, so I rinsed it with water since there was a drain, and a pile of dirt came out from behind the dishwasher. I shook out the sofa covers too, thinking they might be gritty. We were careful in your house, especially with the children. If we’d let anything go, roaches would have crawled out from between the parquet floors and back in. Please focus on solutions like pest control instead of denying what happened and giving unnecessary replies. Good luck!

The wooden, authentic rooms are especially quiet and peaceful. Everything was very clean and hygienic. The owner, Baran, is a polite and respectful young man, and I wish him continued success. I recommend it to everyone. (Baran Öteli')'**""!

It’s been more than 7 years of making this our one and only vacation spot. I first came for my honeymoon in the first year of my marriage, and now that we have two children, we still stay here for at least 3 months every year. It’s warm, clean, family friendly, and a wonderful apartment. This place means a lot to me, and it remains our family’s only choice. I highly recommend it. Sending love to the lovely owner of Baran Apart, Ms. Sabiha, and thank you so much for welcoming us every year 💗
