The place was in terrible shape, with heavy damp and mold coming through the new plaster and paint. The room humidity was 90-92%, and it even felt hotter and more humid indoors than outside. There was a musty, swamp-like smell as soon as I rode the elevator. This hotel is dangerous to your health, and I wouldn’t recommend going near it. The air conditioners did not work at check-in and had been replaced by regular fans. The units in the rooms were very old, from the 1990s, with no remotes and using 12 and 22 freon. International conventions prohibit such units, which can bring large fines and penalties. The receptionist seemed trained to lie without blushing. He said the air conditioners were already being repaired and promised to bring hangers right away, but there were no hangers in any room closet at check-in. They lure people in with a low $30 price, but even that is too much for this dive. The illuminated sign is beautiful, but they should be installing new air conditioners instead of trying to attract guests with it. The photos used to advertise the hotel are fake, a scam, and crap. It has been a long time since this hotel offered these things: the restaurant has been closed for a long time, and the sauna and other services are gone too. Shame on the owners. They should renovate properly and create basic living conditions before luring in gullible tourists.

I’ve never come across a hostel this disgraceful. There was no service or hygiene, and it wasn’t worth 500 lira a night. The sheets were so dirty we couldn’t stand it and bought our own. The bathroom was filthy too. The TV didn’t work, and there was no battery in the remote, so we couldn’t control it. A complete failure.

My wife and I had the best weekend we’ve ever had, and I was glad I didn’t let the reviews put me off. We were happy with the friendly staff and service. Around Ağva, everywhere else we visited was overpriced. Even tea that costs 20 TL elsewhere felt too expensive here by the river, yet I was personally satisfied with the place. I don’t understand why people left such bad reviews. Thanks 👌

I arrived feeling really nervous, but meeting the owner, Ms. Nur, soon turned that into happiness. She came over and warmly invited me for coffee. The service is genuinely high quality, and, as others have said, there were no problems. Don't let the negative reviews put you off, you won't regret coming 😊❤
