The Sign Degirmen Hotel & Spa

We had a very good breakfast, and the hotel staff were polite and respectful. The valet attendant was especially friendly and courteous. The pool has a lovely sea view, and the beach is only about 150 to 200 meters away. It's in a nice part of Şile, close to the main street for evening walks, restaurants, and bars. I highly recommend staying here.

The hotel has a calm feel and lovely views, making it a great spot to relax and enjoy nature. My room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The staff have been very friendly and helpful, always checking that everything is right. I’ve just arrived at The Sign Değirmen Hotel in Şile, Istanbul, and I’m already impressed. Highly recommended, and I’ll definitely come back!

We paid for the best rooms with sea views, but got a suite with only a small window and a twin room without a view. They said there were no twin rooms with a view, yet charged us the same and offered no apology or refund for the difference. When we asked to cancel or at least pay only the first charges, they refused. There was no pool, and the only things available inside were the room and breakfast. That left us with a boring seaside holiday. We had expected to relax with a sea view from the room, but there wasn't one. The location and pleasant atmosphere make the disappointment worse. This felt like the usual Turkish customer service problem to me. They seem to use misleading social media ads to get one-time customers, then stop looking after you once you've paid.

The food had a good range of options and was delicious, better than I expected. The Sign is in a great spot for nearby attractions and Şile's downtown. The accommodation is modest, especially the bathrooms, and the rooms need better quality and upkeep. I'll be back.
