The second room they offered, 213, also had mold in the shower. I was then waiting for yet another room to be prepared, hoping that one would be mold-free. For a hotel of this stature, this kind of health and safety problem in the rooms is unacceptable. I posted more photos so readers can see the danger of paying for substandard, unsafe accommodation. We had stayed here last March 2025 and were happy enough to plan another visit for November 2025. I arrived at 10am to check in and asked for the room we'd had before if it was ready. It wasn't, but they kindly let us check in early to a similar room, 211. As soon as the porter opened the door, there was a strange smell, like laundry left wet for a week. He opened the window, but the smell stayed. It reminded me of a health hazard that had affected my wellbeing for a year, so I checked the bathroom. Black mold was clearly growing along the corners of the shower ceiling, across the whole corner. It was alarming. I called the front desk from the room and said I couldn't stay in 211 because of the mold. The officer said he had to speak with a colleague and asked me to wait in the room for a call back. I couldn't stay in a room with that mold, so they offered 213, where I found the same problem.

The location and surroundings were fantastic, the rooms were clean and well maintained, and breakfast was excellent quality. I stayed seven nights through a travel agent. The main problem was the front desk. On arrival, the receptionist told us there was no reservation. After a stressful 45-minute wait, she returned, apologized for a "mistake," and confirmed our booking was there. On 7th October 2025 at 10:00 AM, I wanted to print a car rental voucher at the business center. Manager Mr. Tunga said I had to send my email to the hotel's electronic mail system so they could print it. The email included personal information, and I said I couldn't send it to anyone for security reasons. I was also waiting at the desk to ask this same manager a hotel business question while he discussed another client's vacation in Greece. I found that totally unprofessional for a five-star hotel manager.

The location is right in the center of Trabzon city square, and the Wi-Fi was excellent. Breakfast had a great variety of fresh food. My room was cleaned every day, and the reception staff were welcoming and helpful. I had an amazing stay at Zorlu Grand Hotel and highly recommend it for enjoying Trabzon ❤️

Ten hours went by and they still hadn't brought a mattress to my room. I went to reception and called twice, and both times they said it would arrive shortly. Worst experience I've had in a “5 star hotel”.
