Tiana Beach Resort - All Inclusive

The location is farther from Turgutreis town than the YouTube promotion suggests. It took about 35 minutes to walk, and a taxi cost 250-300 Turkish lira one way. I’ve spent the last 16 years holidaying in North Africa and different parts of Turkey, and I’ve had better food quality in Morocco at a 3-star place. Here, breakfast was the same every day, and lunch and dinner were repetitive too. Very disappointing.

I arranged a late checkout on the day I arrived, but when the time came the hotel refused it. I ended up staying in another hotel for nine hours. Manager Sedat was completely unprofessional and useless. The facilities were awful. The beds were small and not clean, and the toilets in the accommodation blocks smelled really bad. The staff were friendly, though, and Mamet at the bar was great. Food was disgusting. There were only two main dishes, with the rest being salads that weren't edible. Tea was available in the restaurants only in the morning, so otherwise you had to go to the bar. Beer at the beach bar cost €6. Drinks were limited to wine, beer, and vodka. There was no Pepsi, cola, or other fizzy drinks in the restaurant, and you might find one at the outside bar if you were lucky. A complete nightmare. Stay away from this hotel.

The setting is beautiful, and the pool is a decent size, but getting a sunbed means being up early. Some people claimed beds and then didn't use them all day. Most staff were kind, helpful, and resourceful, and the cleaners were okay, though a few times they touched my things and my friend's things. My first Turkish bath and massage was a bad experience. The woman was too rough, and when I said it hurt, she laughed and pressed harder. I came out with a lot of bruises. We lived on bread for the whole week because the food was awful, cold, tasteless, and covered in flies. When my friend and I complained, they said nothing could be done. The dishes had no names, and they need labels plus an alternative menu for people with allergies or intolerances. There wasn't much entertainment, especially at night. The hotel feels about 3-star to me because of that, and the food gets no stars at all. We would go back if they fixed the food and entertainment. I do recommend Adem boat trips, they were lots of fun and affordable.

This will be my fifth visit. I come for three weeks and always have a great holiday. The rooms are very clean and the beds comfortable. Food is excellent, entertainment is very good, and the staff are great. There's a lovely beach bar where you can watch the sunset, and management is excellent. I'll definitely be coming back.
