There was a cigarette smell in the bathroom, and I had no hot water when I arrived in the evening. The hotel is quite old, with old bed linen, furniture, and equipment. Sounds from outside made it a bit noisy.

Turunç is absolutely beautiful, and I feel lucky to have met such kind, welcoming people there. As a woman traveling solo on my first trip to Turkey, I felt safe, at ease, and very welcome from the moment I arrived at Dream Hotel. I checked in at 5am, and the manager personally made sure I was settled and had everything I needed. My room was lovely, clean, and well maintained, with great housekeeping throughout. The on-site restaurant served delicious meals. The hotel is ideally placed, just a short walk from the beach and steps from charming tourist shops. The staff went above and beyond to help arrange a massage, airport transfers, and a day trip to Rhodes. That day trip was one of the highlights of my holiday. I couldn’t recommend Dream Hotel more highly.

The room had a full-length mirror, which was great, but the plug was nowhere near it, so straightening my hair was a bit of a challenge. The balcony also had no table or anything to hang towels and swimsuits on. I do love sitting out there. Still, this hotel is quite fab. It’s a short walk to the beach, the staff are friendly, and the food is nice. We didn’t have breakfast, so I can’t comment on that. I’m not someone who spends all day at the hotel, and it suited us well for the time we were there. I’d recommend it as a good place to stay.

Make sure you get everything in writing twice if you stay here, and don’t be taken in by the makeover. When reception staff open their mouths, they’re lying. I have one of the rarest illnesses in the world. It has affected every part of my body. I’m post-Cushing syndrome and now have Addison’s, and I was also only seven weeks out from stomach and bowel surgery. We were the first to book, while the hotel was quiet, so we could choose a room. We picked one with a wrap-around terrace and booked through the 10th, then decided to extend our stay. We told two reception staff we were staying longer, and when they asked if we wanted the same room, of course we said yes. Two days later, we got a text saying we had to move because the hotel owner wanted our room. We chose another room, then found out the receptionist had told a couple who arrived after us that they could have it. We only agreed to move because she said the owner wanted the room. When we learned it was just two other holidaymakers paying the same as us, we said we weren’t moving. After that, we were told again and again that we had to move and were called rude. The woman even claimed she was the hotel manager, although someone else had been brought in to look after the hotel. We showed that person, the night before, the written confirmation that we’d extended our stay and that we were the first to book when it was quiet. But the next morning, she was at our door again, telling us to get out. Apparently this royal couple, whom she was so scared to tell no, would have the room free from May 15. She was relentless and wouldn’t leave us alone. In the end, we got our money back. A friend we made found us a lovely family-run hotel right on the seafront. We’ve been coming to Turkey since 1999, and our children grew up holidaying here. I can honestly say this was the worst experience we’ve had. Do your homework if you’re thinking of staying. Two ladies were changing rooms because some of them had drains that stank. We’ve never been treated so badly on holiday. The young man behind the bar, imir, was lovely and friendly, and was trying to get to grips with English. This was meant to be a relaxing break and a chance to rest after an operation that went wrong. How wrong we were x

It's still as good as ever. We really enjoy our holidays here.
