Misty Cave Hotel

The staff and service were superb, and it’s a good budget stay in a great location. Ahmed was a gem, always around and willing to go beyond his job to make us comfortable. Over two days, he practically became a good friend and was so accommodating. This felt like an experience, not just a place to stay. It’s very rustic, so remember it’s not a five-star hotel, though the experience felt five-star.

Breakfast at Misty Hotel was incredible, with everything tasting homemade, like food a Turkish auntie would lovingly make. Big thanks to Gönül, the lovely woman in the kitchen. You could taste how much care she put into every dish. The cave rooms were spotless, and sleeping in one felt seriously magical, like a dream. From the moment we arrived, the place felt cozy and welcoming. I had such a beautiful stay in Cappadocia. If you’re after a peaceful, authentic experience, I can’t recommend Misty Hotel enough. I’ll definitely come back!

The staff were so kind and helpful. For a small hotel, they did many things a big one might not: twice they let us eat food we’d ordered in the hotel and brought plates and cutlery. They also used their kitchen to make Indian maggi from our packets for our young daughter, and boiled rice for her dahi-chawal, or curd rice. Our family room had plenty of space for four, two adults and two children, and they provided extra beds. The towels were the cleanest we had, even better than at a five-star hotel. All family rooms had a good-sized bathtub, and there’s a pretty little cafe with good lighting. The property itself is small, with rooms carved into a cave and a lovely atmosphere. It’s close to Urgup town and within walking distance of a historical Hammam bath. We had a great three-day stay at Misty Cave Hotel. Google rates it two stars, and perhaps that’s right, but among the two- to five-star places we stayed in across four Turkish cities, this was one of the best. A couple of minor drawbacks: breakfast was a small spread, especially compared with other hotels we visited in Turkey. There were some brighter points, including a good variety, cheese-stuffed mini capsicum, and freshly made vegetable omelette. Also, our underground room was warmer than our friends’ underground room. We barely used a blanket and felt a bit sweaty, though it was still cozy and comfortable. We’re very happy with our stay and grateful for the staff’s warm hospitality and thoughtful attention to our specific needs. PS: Some room photos are messy and were taken while checking out. Housekeeping was done well.

We only stayed at Misty for a day, but the service was easily five-star. Manager Zeynep was extremely kind and went out of her way to help with local tours and answer all our questions. Mert was helpful too, making sure our stay went smoothly.
