Sota Cappadocia

The host is incredibly gracious, and the staff are very friendly. Our room was spacious, and breakfast came with a wonderful variety of colors and flavors. There’s a warmth to the place that feels as otherworldly as Cappadocia itself. A magical stay.

Nil has done a beautiful job restoring the original building, with stunning cave rooms and tasteful interiors. SOTA is ideally located for exploring Cappadocia, and Younus was on hand whenever we needed help. Nil and her team also suggested itineraries and local restaurants, and went out of their way to make the stay special. The breakfasts were the best we’ve had anywhere, with plenty of delicious choices, many cooked at home or sourced locally. The hotel is beautifully designed, with great food, service and hospitality. A wonderful experience!

Nil and her team are amazing. I’ve never been welcomed at a hotel with this much care and hospitality. The rooms are built into the mountain, and they’re gorgeous, spacious and comfortable. I’ll be back!

SOTA lived up to the reviews and photos that led me to choose it after looking through loads of places in the area. I decided on Ürgüp, a smaller town than Geromë, and found this lovely place, lovingly renovated by the welcoming owner, Nil. The cave rooms have natural light, and the rooms and beds are very comfortable. It’s quiet and peaceful but still within walking distance of town. There’s a lovely room and terrace where you can sit at any time, day or night, and enjoy the views. Breakfast is generous and varied, with freshly made food, including local spreads and honey. Nil is passionate about making sure guests feel looked after, get useful information and can make the most of their time. One note for anyone with walking difficulties: there’s a short sloped driveway or road, plus steps up to reception, the rooms and the breakfast and communal area.
