Our two-night stay was decent, but all things considered I'd give it no more than 6/10. We haven't tried other hotels nearby, so I can't compare. Karargah is in a great spot, right at the start of Sanat Sokağı. The hotel is a modernized stone building that doesn't feel weighed down by old details, and there was no musty antique smell. The bed was spacious and comfortable, with cozy sheets, duvet, and pillows. The room layout, though, needed more thought. The frosted glass bathroom door swings both ways and gives no privacy. The bathroom furniture placement led to frequent bumps, the safe was in a strange spot, and there was just one hanger in the wardrobe. There's no hotel parking or nearby municipal lot, and the two private lots are expensive. Try finding a space on the nearby streets. Separately, construction for infrastructure work has left the side streets in a mess, with excavations covered haphazardly. It's sad to see in such a charming area, but that's not the hotel's fault. Hopefully it gets sorted soon.

The setting and atmosphere are amazing, with real Eagean spirit. Rooms are clean and cozy, though they feel a bit like a military basement from the 1920’s. Check-in is self-service after 18:00, which is pretty normal for Airbnb users. Children under 12 aren't accepted, so it's very quiet and peaceful, without mess or screams. In winter, the fireplace in the garden is lovely too. I'd definitely recommend it.

This little peaceful haven sits just outside Sanat Sokağı. It's a boutique hotel in a historic building, tastefully and elegantly decorated, with a warm yet classy feel that's hard to combine. The rooms were spotless and fully equipped, and the staff were professional and very helpful. There are several other nice boutique hotels like this in Urla I'd like to discover on my next trip, but I have a feeling this one will stay my favorite. I definitely recommend it.
