Leave all hope, ye who enter. The view and the chance to save money may seem like a decent trade-off at first, but the problems soon show. Cleanliness was among the worst I’ve come across. I’ll attach a morning photo of the kitchen, though it may not show just how unpleasantly dirty it was. In the living room there were misplaced items, dirty areas, and what looked like an abandoned construction site welder, possibly left there for years. Everything felt neglected, even the owner. The toilet cistern was broken, and some people in our group didn’t have a toilet brush holder. The air conditioner remote had dead batteries. When I told the staff, they did nothing, so I took batteries from the TV remote to get the air conditioner in my room working. It seemed like every single thing had a flaw. The owner, called Madame, was with a group of young people who might have been underage assistants. Even villagers laughed when we mentioned staying there. Her notoriety seems widespread.

A three-star hotel in an amazing location, with a good balance of price and amenities. The staff were friendly and helpful, which made our stay comfortable.

The owners and staff are nice, but we can’t recommend Portofino Hotel in Yahsi Beach to other people vacationing in Bodrum. The stairs and uphill walking are exhausting, and the whole Portofino hotel needs restoration and a thorough update.

I really liked the food, and the rooms had everything you need. The staff and service were at the level I was looking for, making this one of the best places in Bodrum. When I come back to Bodrum for a holiday, Portofino will definitely be my first choice.
