Monica made the morning especially memorable. She put out extra bird food, then spent time with everyone explaining the birds, their habits, and local stories about them. We really appreciated her kindness. The garden itself is magical. We watched an amazing range of wild birds, including a motmot that came so close we’d never been near one before. We also had wonderful close-up views of a ruby topaz hummingbird and a barred antshrike. There’s a garden path called the Motmot Trail, but the motmot visited us so often that we didn’t need to walk it. I’d worried the steep path might make the place difficult for my disabled husband. We drove up the steep driveway and parked right beside the house, so it was only a short, level walk from the car to the garden. We’re grateful for a very special morning.

We loved watching the hummingbirds dart around the beautifully kept gardens. Monica made us feel welcome and shared lots about the local birds, even showing us examples of some of their nests. A lovely visit.

For TT60 per person, I thought it was well worth it. We easily spotted five of Tobago’s six hummingbird types, as well as motmots, barred antshrikes, and other more common birds, all close enough to see clearly.

We’ve visited Tobago several times but had never come here before. Don’t let the name put you off, Adventure is the area it’s in. The garden is lovely for a stroll, the hummingbirds were beautiful to watch, and we also had a visit from a gorgeous motmot and a red-crowned woodpecker. I’d definitely recommend trying their mango ice cream.

The native landscape was a pleasure to explore, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. They feed the birds, so you can watch them from close by. One staff member even took us to see a baby hummingbird. I enjoyed the birdwatching here a lot.
