Grafton Beach Resort

A bit late with this review, but I visited in May with my partner while they were at a BJJ retreat. The rooms are outdated, but the staff were lovely and friendly, and the location was bliss for a city girl who loves peace and quiet. I've got some great memories and met some lovely people. I miss them all and wish them well. I'd love to come back soon. Ps, I miss my breakfasts, 10/10 YUMYUM

The staff made our week in August 2025 such a good stay. Everyone, from reception and housekeeping to the bar, breakfast and maintenance teams, was welcoming, polite and really efficient. Breakfast was consistently top notch, and we enjoyed the drinks at the bar and WAVES. Try the Rainbow Surprise. The room had a lovely view and the beach was beautiful and easy to reach. The resort could use some infrastructure updates, especially better Wi-Fi, a kitchenette, more electrical outlets and furniture on the balcony. We had a great time, and the staff deserve another mention.

The staff made me feel at home as soon as I arrived, especially Keyon, Adriana, Akena and Justin. The setting at Grafton Beach Resort is gorgeous, with clear water and beautiful beach views. My room was spacious, clean and well equipped, and I enjoyed the pool and dining options, including the tasty local food. I had an unforgettable stay and would definitely come back.

We came back for a second stay and loved it again. Grafton and Waves both have kind, helpful staff, good food and great cocktails, and the breakfast is very good. The resort sits right above the beach, with the Waves cafe down on the sand. The beach can get rough, so it isn't suited to an average swimmer. In season, you may see leatherback turtles laying eggs. We missed one by a few hours but found a fresh nest. There are two clean, well-kept pools, one deep and one for kids, and it feels family friendly without getting too crowded. The rooms don't have good internet, though the public areas do, so plan ahead if you need to join a conference call. I actually liked being less attached to my devices. The place can look a little worn if you're used to US resorts, but everything was clean, working and cared for. You'll need a car to visit other beaches. The roads are narrow and Tobago drivers take some getting used to, though that may be easier if you're from Latin America or a Slavic country. This spot feels like a hidden gem, and I'm looking forward to bringing my family back to watch for turtles. Tobago is beautiful, and I never get tired of it.
