Tony's Guest House

The location was good, but the place was a hot mess. The rooms, stove, and dishes were disgusting, the chairs made me itch, and the bathrooms stank. We had to buy supplies to clean them. There was dust everywhere, termite droppings all over the sheets, ants all over the walls, and mold on the shower curtains and in the fridge. There were so many mosquitoes that my child’s skin is in bad shape. The pictures were a lie. On our checkout day, we were told at 10 a.m. that we had to leave by 11, though we were supposed to stay until noon. The curtain fell on my child’s head as he walked through the door and cut his forehead. Mr Tony, you need to stop lying and fix this place. It was filthy and smelled bad. You’re a nasty man to rent this place to people. I will not recommend it. Don’t go there.

The hosts were lovely to communicate with and quick to answer my questions. I stayed in the Flamingo room and had a wonderful visit. I picked it because it was newly renovated, and the space impressed me: spotless, thoughtfully decorated, and a great mix of modern and cozy. It had everything I needed for an easy, comfortable stay. I’ll recommend it to colleagues and friends, and hope to return soon.

Tony’s hospitality stood out even alongside some wonderful hotels I’ve stayed in London, Barcelona, and Portugal. At Tony's Guest House, he arranged an airport pickup with Keilon, who welcomed me warmly, made me feel at home, shared lots of helpful insights, and answered my questions. For Jouvert, Tony arranged Stephan as a taxi driver. I expected only a ride there and back, but Stephan guided me through the event, explained what to look out for and how to stay safe, and connected me with two places to go if I had any trouble in Port of Spain. He even brought me a Jouvert cup, which is now on my shelf back in London. He treated me like a brother, and after Jouvert I felt confident enough to get around Port of Spain on my own for the rest of Monday and Tuesday. The guest house is a peaceful oasis in Petit Valley, up on a mountain with beautiful views. The neighborhood felt safe, and the residents were friendly. My room was immaculate and had a double bed and a single bed, plenty of storage, a fridge, microwave, bathroom with shower, TV, air conditioning, fan, Wi-Fi, and a dining area with plates and cutlery. Outside there was plenty of space to sit in the sun. There’s a KFC about ten minutes down the road, and transport is easy: the Maxi Taxi stop is two minutes away, and Port of Spain is a 15-minute drive. I’m delighted I stayed there. Tony's Guest House gave me lasting memories of Trinidad and Tobago, and I’m already planning to come back and visit Maracas beach. I’m really looking forward to staying with Tony again. Try it for yourself and you’ll thank me later.

Tony treats guests like family while staying available whenever you need him and still giving you privacy. I’ve been staying at Tony’s Guest House since 2017, whether I’m visiting Trinidad or just taking a weekend break, and it’s always a pleasure. It feels like home, with comfort, privacy, and safety, and it’s easy to get to transport, entertainment, restaurants, beaches, and the City. Tony, the owner and host, is amazing. 👍
