Applause In The Mountain

We booked two family rooms for four people each, and the rooms were good. The morning buffet was included. They offer free rides between the homestay and Fushan bus station, the nearest stop. Give them your schedule a day ahead, or they provide a phone number to call when you return. Bring an EasyCard for the buses, since the small Fushan station doesn't sell tickets. There's also a hot spring for 380 NTD per person, available at set times only.

I brought a friend to visit Baoxi, the professional coffee farmer. We tried several coffees, including Geisha honey, Geisha washed, and purple leaves. They were all good, though I personally liked the Geisha honey best. The owner knows a lot and was happy to share their experience. I'd visit again.

The staff were kind and attentive, and did their best to help, though their English was quite limited, which could be a little challenging for non-Chinese speakers. We had a lovely two-night stay in a peaceful mountain setting near Alishan, surrounded by tea gardens. Our spacious room was very clean, with a balcony and nice mountain views. The room had artistic design, lighting, and a ceiling fan that made it feel cozy, and the WiFi was strong. Amenities were quite minimal, though, with no toothbrush, toothpaste, earbuds, or sewing kit, so some guests may want to bring their own. Breakfast had a decent variety, mostly continental, but the menu didn't change and could get repetitive after a couple of days. We also paid extra for the hotpot dinner, which was delicious and worth trying. It was a memorable stay, and we'd happily return with a few extra toiletries.

We got in late and they upgraded us for free, and made lots of concessions for us. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the view was amazing, and breakfast felt heartwarming.
