Hoya Hot Springs Resort & Spa

The food was okay, but our old room, 227, had a dripping sound by the bed all night. The bathtub was also too high to be convenient for older people.

The hot spring and hospitality are better than at royal’s. The staff are very friendly, and they treat the stray cats like family!

The breakfast was subpar, and finding clean plates and bowls took longer than eating. I even found hair wrapped around the food. That dining hall should be ashamed of itself. Cleanliness needs so much work. In the room, the carpet was stained all over, and two of the three small towels and two of the three large ones had questionable orange stains. One towel even had a dead bug folded inside. The shower is outside the bathtub, which would be fine except the floor slopes toward the wall while the drain isn’t there, leaving a giant soapy puddle. The white shower curtain was yellowing and hung too low, with its bottom inch or inch and a half sitting in the puddle. The bathtub handle was once silver but had turned very speckled black. This was probably the worst hotel or resort I’ve ever stayed in. It’s disgusting, and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone, not even my worst enemy. Don’t waste your money.

The bed was the one good thing, big and cozy. The room smelled bad, maybe because of the carpet, and felt really dirty. The facilities are old, with dust on the table and around the kettle. There was no bathroom curtain, so shower water ended up all over the floor. The hotel management should pay attention to the facilities and cleanliness. Breakfast was the worst part. There were only a few choices despite the large restaurant, and the food wasn’t good. It was much worse than breakfast we’ve had at smaller hotels. Some spoons in the spot marked “clean spoons” still had what looked like food on them.
