Very Good Motel

The room was amazingly spacious, and the customer service was great, especially from the cafeteria staff.

So nice and clean.

For 2000 yuan, I was surprised to get a motel room with breakfast included. The exterior was lovely, and inside the room was spacious, nicely decorated, and free of unpleasant smells. There were paintings and pictures on the walls, two canned drinks in the fridge, a little balcony, and even a mini-bar. The bathroom had a separate shower and a big tub. Its massage function was broken, but for that price I still thought it was excellent. Breakfast was quite lavish, with plenty of seating and a wide all-you-can-eat selection of food and drinks, including fruit and braised pork rice. The food leaned light, but condiments were available for anyone who likes stronger flavors. The parking lot was large too, with plenty of spaces. One small suggestion: a movable mirror on the dressing table would make makeup easier, and the dressing-table lighting could be brighter. It was a very good experience.

I’ve stayed here every year for nearly ten years when visiting my parents, mainly because it’s close to their home and convenient for getting there. I didn’t pay much attention to whether it was good or bad, but I won’t be back. The room was poorly soundproofed and the staff were rude. I’m really angry about how this year went. We arrive late, so the hotel called to ask if we could pay by credit card ahead of time. We confirmed we’d check in and let them charge it. Every year we book through the platform, and it clearly says pets are allowed. This year they charged us $2000 on site for two nights with two pets. It was an extra fee, and we paid it directly to keep things amicable during Chinese New Year. We checked out on the 19th. The hotel called afterward, but I didn’t answer. Their note said the pets had soiled the bedding and they wanted another $1000 for cleaning. On the 20th I got a message and called to ask for their account details. They told me they’d already charged $2000 to my credit card, without any notification. I couldn’t stop the payment through my bank’s card department. They can apparently take money without my consent. I was so scared by that that I canceled the card. I didn’t realize leaving card details when booking through a platform could be so unsafe. They kept saying there were messages and photos for me to see on the platform, but I hadn’t checked them. They never called to confirm or discuss it afterward, just deducted the money. I’ve learned something new about how hotels and platforms can operate. Be careful choosing a hotel, they may charge your card without notifying you. I felt so stupid.
