Kenting Long Beach Hotel

The indoor play area was the main reason we picked this hotel, and it was well kept. The food was mixed: dinner buffet was great, the set-menu breakfast was awful, while the buffet breakfast and café lunch were good. It seems the hotel changes its food service depending on how many guests are around. Dinner wasn’t available during most of our stay. There’s no Uber Eats, so you’ll need to drive or pay extra for the hotel transport. Some morning staff were wonderful, especially a woman who looked to be in her 40s or 50s, and a younger man was very friendly too. I was completely satisfied with them. The staff member who checked us in was another story. We were new to Booking.com in Taiwan and didn’t understand why they needed the booking credit card when the stay had already been paid for. It was a gift from my family, and we didn’t have their card, so I called to check it had been charged. His coworker patiently explained that they’d refund us, though we got no receipt, and that we’d need to pay another way. The man at the desk hadn’t explained this; he just kept repeating that we had to pay differently without the card and asking if I wanted to proceed. His coworker had to step in. I also found hair in the tub while bathing my toddler. At first I thought it hadn’t been cleaned well, then I noticed a glue-like substance with hair stuck to it on the towel. I took it to the front desk, but the same man seemed unconcerned. When I asked for the manager because of his dismissive response, he said he’d pass it on the next day. I asked to be contacted, he agreed, but I’ve checked out and still haven’t heard from the manager. For the price, I expected better service and food, though I would recommend the hotel for its play area.

We had a pleasant one-night stay in a spacious, clean room with harbor views. The hotel is on the waterfront near Kenting, with a Seaside museum across the street, and seems like the best hotel in CheCheng. We didn’t have enough time to try the pool, gym, or spa, though they looked well equipped. The breakfast buffet and local-style dinner were decent. Highly recommend.

The kids’ play areas are great, and the rooms are tidy with good service. Watch your step, the bathroom floor gets slippery when wet. There used to be a 24-hour convenience store here a long time ago; it’d be great if it reopened.
