The location was nice, but the room was average and the service experience was poor.

We really enjoyed the quiet nights, with only waves under the starry sky. Mountains on one side and the sea on the other made a lovely setting, and we were grateful to the host for a clean, comfortable stay over Lunar New Year. We hope to visit Taitung again, and hope future guests can enjoy the same comfort. The attached photos show the stars and mountain views.

At night, the balcony was great for looking at the sea and stars. The room was simple but had what we needed, and it was clean and comfortable. The guesthouse cat, "Pangpang," whom we called Baby, was adorable and affectionate, often rolling over and kicking her feet in the air. Cat lovers should be happy here. The helper was polite and friendly, explaining the guesthouse and local sights. He even looked a bit like a Hong Kong star. He seemed shy, but was very considerate and kept helping us with explanations. In the morning, we really did see Reeves' muntjac, though sadly no crab-eating mongooses. I hope the animals and their natural homes won't be disturbed or damaged any further. We didn't see any insects, perhaps because the weather was fairly cool. In a place this close to nature, that seems reasonable. Otherwise, how could there be so little light pollution for stargazing, and Reeves' muntjacs around in the morning? One review had made me imagine the cameras might feel scary, but they're only in the parking lot and lobby, for guest safety and the owner's rights. I wasn't uncomfortable at all, so there's no need to worry. Next time, I'll definitely look for the helper so I can play with my baby again! Ah, my chubby baby seems to have chewing gum stuck to her. Could the helper or owner please remove it? I thought about using the scissors on my Swiss Army knife, but I'm afraid she might struggle and get hurt because she doesn't know us 🥲

The stars looked beautiful that night 🤩, and the room had its own little balcony. We didn't manage to catch the sunrise over the sea, though 😭😭. There was also a cute, affectionate kitten. When we arrived, I called the owner, who talked me through self check-in over the phone, like at a B&B abroad. My friend and I booked together, and the owner gave us a discount for two people. We were delighted to find two big beds in the room! ✌️ Next time I'll bring my parents.
