If you’re after a busy social hotel or hostel, this probably isn’t the place. For a quiet break, though, it worked really well for me. The owner was friendly and walked me through the whole place, showing me how everything worked. The room and bathroom were clean, and the main station isn’t too far away. There were lots of thoughtful little extras, including free snacks, a water dispenser, lotion, slippers, and umbrellas. The umbrellas came in handy when Typhoon Dana swept the coast.

The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and there was free tea and coffee. The owner was really nice and gave great advice. I’d definitely recommend staying here.

The host was kind and accommodating, and quickly suggested good places to eat and visit. They even offered me their bike, which was thoughtful since Chiayi isn’t very pedestrian friendly. There was a cute dog too. It really added to my time in Chiayi, and I’d stay again.

I slept really well and appreciated the neck pillow they provided. Comfort and cleanliness were both spot on, and the host family was very friendly. I’d happily come back and highly recommend this homestay.

Being able to bring my bicycle inside and check in early was handy. The hostel is clean and comfortable, and it’s an easy walk to places around downtown Chiayi, including the night market, cinema and train station. The owners are friendly and helpful, and made me feel welcome. I was very happy here and would gladly stay again. Excellent!
